The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has drawn attention to the incident in which a 22-year-old Abhinash Raya was injured in a firing incident by the Armed Police Force at Pratappur Rural Municipality-6 near the Nepal-India border in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta West).
The commission has issued a press release on May 20 stating that the injured died while being taken to Butwal for further treatment.
The Lumbini Provincial Office of the Commission has stated that it has started monitoring the incident. In the process, the commission has immediately taken necessary information from the local police administration.
The commission said in a statement that Abhinash Raya, a local, was injured in the clash and was shot dead by the armed police.

A statement issued by the spokesperson and joint secretary of the commission, Dr Tikaram Pokharel, states that the commission has also written to Gana Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta West) on May 20.
