District Court of Sankhuwasabha has ordered eight years of imprisonment to Lewa Bhote, 25, of Bhotkhola Rural Municipality-4 for raping a 27-year-old woman with a physical disability.
The verdict was given by the bench of Judge Shanti Prasad Acharya on May 5, 2021, informed Shrestedar Dilli Prasai.
The guilty was charged NRs. 200,000 as a fine and NRs. 25,000 as compensation. He was also charged NRs. 1,300 for the Victim Relief Fund, informed Prasai.
The victim was raped on January 28, 2021, and the complaint was filed on February 1.
The accused was arrested on February 2, on the basis of the complaint and was presented at the District Court on February 7.
The health checkup of the victim was conducted on February 2, 2021, at the district hospital.
