The family members of Dilli Bahadur Budha, 43, a resident of Bangad Kupinde Municipality-1, have complained that he lost his life due to a lack of ambulance. Dilli Bahadur died after no beds were found in hospitals for his treatment.
Kul Bahadur Budha, the father of the deceased, informed that the deceased had returned home from India a few days ago and was taken to Sanjivani Community Hospital, Sallibazar for further treatment.
After his son’s health deteriorated, he tried to find a means of transportation overnight on April 25, but couldn’t manage. He said- my son died while searching for an ambulance as they could not find any means of treatment and he even needed oxygen.”
Although he was not tested for COVID-19, the family says all the symptoms are similar to those of it.
The municipality, however, has expressed regret over not being able to send the ambulance even though it has one. Deputy Chief of the municipality Manju Yari said that the ambulance had been procured for about a month but the ambulance could not be used even in case of emergency due to lack of procedures.
She said that an ambulance would be launched soon after holding a meeting with the mayor and executive members.
