COVID Patient Loses Life Due to Lack of Beds

A 35-year-old COVID infected person of Ramgram Municipality-9 has died on April 27 due to a lack of a bed in the hospital.

He was rushed to Prithvichandra District Hospital for treatment on April 26 after having respiratory issues and later was taken to Bhim Hospital in Bhairahawa and Corona Special Hospital in Butwal for further treatment but was not admitted due to lack of a bed, informed the hospital’s Medical Superintendent Mohammad Nurul Hoda.

His father died at home just two days ago due to COVID-19. In the last 24 hours, 34 people in the district have been diagnosed with the infection, said Devilal Poudel, Corona Focal Person of District Health Office, Nawalparasi West.

Health Office Chief Krishna Prasad Pokharel has informed that five people have died in Nawalpasi West since the onset of the second phase of COVID-19 infection. In the last 10 days, the number of deaths in Ramgram Municipality has reached four.
