Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) has published a press statement urging the Government of Nepal to take initiatives to save the life of Dr. Govinda KC, who is on hunger strike.
INSEC has reminded the government about its constitutional responsibility to protect the lives of individuals, via the statement issued by INSEC’s Chairperson Dr. Indira Shrestha on October 2.
‘The 19th hunger strike of Dr. Govinda KC has been ongoing from the past 18 days. He started the hunger strike demanding to initiate the MBBS program at Karnali Institute of Health Science and investigate various cases of corruption. INSEC expresses concern over Dr. KC’s deteriorating health condition’- mentioned in the statement,
The statement has also mentioned- it is essential to strengthen the public health system and good governance to respond to the pandemic caused by COVID-19 as well.
