Police have arrested Lekhraj Budhathoki, 35, a ward member of Ghorahi Sub-metropolitan City–15, on charges of smearing black soot on Ajaya Bohora, 49, an officer at the Education Division of Ghorahi Sub-metropolitan City and a resident of Ghorahi–16, and subjecting him to inhuman treatment.
Budhathoki, who had been expressing opposition to the election of the School Management Committee at Padmodaya Secondary School in Ghorahi, allegedly smeared black soot on Election Officer Bohora on July 11, before fleeing the scene. According to DSP Dr. Hem Bahadur KC of the District Police Office, Dang, the accused was arrested in Ghorahi on July 13, and an investigation has been initiated.
The victim’s side filed a complaint at the District Police Office on July 12, demanding legal action against the accused.
