The local development officer (LDO) and some staffs were locked up by the local Mirmi people on March 13 according to RSS. LDO Bishwo Prakash Aryal along with his staffs were locked up while they were participating a public hearing program at Mirmi.
The locals of Mirmi have been protesting against the decision of making Birgha as a centre for Kaligandaki Vilage Council. They have obstructed the program.
The Mirmi dwellers were agitated after the LOD Aryal inaugurated the village council office on Monday. The agitating mass entered into the assembly hall and locked up the hall where public hearing program was operating according to witness Bhoj Raj Aryal.
LDO Aryal including information officer, Dhana Prasad Koirala, Planning officer Yam Prasad Regmi were locked inside the hall for one hour.
