A complaint has been lodged at the District Police Office on August 28 alleging that Shyam Kumar Yadav, 36, Ward Chairperson of Nokailwa, Brahmapuri Rural-7 had tried to rape a 30-year-old woman.
According to the victim, the accused had abused her several times before. The victim’s husband has been working in Kuwait for the past two years due to their fragile economic condition.
Jogendra Yadav, brother of Shyam Kumar Yadav, said that some locals have been trying to defame them because of some political reasons and no such incident has happened.
DSP Madhav Prasad Budhathoki of the District Police Office informed that the accused was absconding after the incident.
The victim has been examined at the District Hospital, Malangwa on August 29.
