Journos duo Pabitra Shahi, 28 of Nagarik Daily and a chairperson of District press Chautari and Ramesh Rawal, 32 of Karobar Daily have accused police of misbehaving them on September 25 on charge of writing news.
The victims have complained that they were dragged out at night from their room and beaten by the police on charge of writing news against the government office.
The news regarding an alcoholic party organized at Women and Children office during an office time was published in Nagarik Daily on September 15. Journalist Shahi accused police of following him since the day the news was published.
According to DSP Yogendra Khadka of DPO, the police was deployed after getting the information of dispute; however there were no intention of police to arrest journalists. However, the victims are claiming that they were dragged out from their room by the police while they were sleeping.
