A 10-year-old girl survivor of rape has received financial assistance from INSEC to support her legal proceedings and medical treatment.
INSEC Koshi Province Office, Biratnagar, provided Rs. 5,000 to the victim through INSEC Sankhuwasabha representative Bhavin Karki to facilitate access to justice and healthcare services.
Following the incident, the survivor has been placed in a safe shelter and rehabilitation center. According to shelter manager Tulsi Ghimire, the financial support was provided on June 9 to assist with medical treatment and legal procedures after an application was submitted to INSEC due to the family’s weak economic condition.
The assistance was provided in the presence of Inspector Dhan Bahadur Rajbanshi from the District Police Office, Sankhuwasabha.
The survivor is currently staying at a safe shelter and rehabilitation center after receiving treatment at Sankhuwasabha District Hospital.
Due to financial constraints affecting treatment, the victim’s family had requested assistance from INSEC.
The accused, Arun Rai, 30, of Pakhribas Municipality–3, was arrested on June 3 after being charged with raping the child on May 21. The complaint had been filed at the District Police Office on June 1.
The survivor’s medical examination was conducted at the district hospital on June 1. Following INSEC’s support, the victim’s family has been able to proceed with legal action.
