The capacity-building training for officials of the Human Rights Group, organized by the Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) Sudurpaschim Province Office, Dhangadhi, was held in Dhangadhi on May 30. INSEC Sudurpaschim Province Coordinator Khadkaraj Joshi stated that the training was organized to enhance the capacity of Human Rights Group officials to raise human rights issues and make the local level more accountable and responsible.



Krishna Bahadur Bishwakarma, Documentation Officer at the INSEC Sudurpaschim Province Office, stated that documentation holds significant importance and emphasized the need to prepare monitoring reports for any incident. INSEC Kanchanpur District Facilitator Kailash Paneru stated that the Human Rights Group can register as a group at the local level and submit proposals to bring in programs.
Govinda Sapkota, the Provincial Coordinator of the Human Rights Group and Chairperson of the Belauri Municipality-level Human Rights Group stated that the group has established an identity in all 10 wards of Belauri Municipality and has also been carrying out human rights-related programs within the municipality. Somnath Rana, Chairperson of the Laljhadi Rural Municipality-level Human Rights Group, stated that since the formation of the group, they have been able to learn about many human rights-related issues and therefore, the collaboration with INSEC will continue.
Asha Pariyar, Chairperson of the Ghodaghodi Municipality-level Human Rights Group, stated that after the formation of the group, she got the opportunity to learn about human rights issues. Man Bahadur Chaudhary, Chairperson of the Kailari Rural Municipality-level Human Rights Group, stated that working in the Human Rights Group has involved both learning opportunities and challenges, and efforts are currently underway to register the group at the rural municipality level.
During the program, the Human Rights Group reviewed its work from the past three years and discussed plans for upcoming activities.
