It has been seven months since the corona infection was first identified in Nepal. During this period, the number of infected people has exceeded 34,000 and the number of deaths has reached 175.
No new infection was found for two months after the first case was identified on January 23.
Two months later, on March 23 the second infected person was identified. By April 22, the number of infected people had risen to 65. Although the situation was normal till this period, from March 24, locked-down was issued nationwide.
The first death due to coronavirus infection was on May 15. By May 23, the number of infected people had risen to 584 and one person had been added to the list of those who died from the infection.
Statistics show that there has been a high increase in corona infection cases since then. As of June 24, corona infection had been confirmed in 2,383 people and 24 had died.
In the first six months of the year i.e. upto July 25, the number of infected people reached 18,483 and the number of deaths reached 45.
Statistics show that the number of death has peaked immediately in the following month. In the last one month period from July 25 to August 26, 15,935 infected people have been added and 130 infected people have died.

Observing the statistics, the pandemic of corona infection has increased alarmingly in Nepal.
According to the statistics of the last one week, average number of infection is 681 and seven people die every day.
