In all the three districts of Kathmandu Valley, the prohibition issued by the Chief District Officers has been extended for one week from August 26 to September 2.
Earlier, a joint meeting of the Chief District Officers of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts on August 18 decided to issue a prohibitory order for one week from August 19.
Chief District Officers have issued separate orders urging people not to go out during this period except for the purchase of medicines, food items and essential items.
Stating that it is necessary to make the prevention and control of COVID-19 more effective, the District Administration Offices have decided to conduct activities from August 26 to September 3 in accordance with Section 2 of the Infectious Diseases Act 2020 and Section 6 (3) of the Local Administration Act 2028. A 20-point order issued by Kathmandu Chief District Officer, Mahesh Raj Dahal has issued a prohibition on the entire district.
Chief District Officer of Lalitpur, Narayan Prasad Bhat issued a 20-point order and Chief District Officer of Bhaktapur Humkala Pandey issued a 10-point order.
Except for transportation of essential items, health workers and security personnel everything else have been banned in all the three districts.
According to the order, hotels, restaurants, street vendors will also be closed and banks and other agencies will be able to provide services by keeping minimum staff and following health safety standards.
