Police have arrested 10 cadres of the banned Communist Party of Nepal led by Netra Bikram Chand (Biplov) from Butwal Sub-Metropolitan-17, Raniganj on July 31.
The arrested ones are: Tek Bahadur Pun (Sangam), Bishnu Bhattarai (Bishram), Nabin Chaudhary, Paras Rahadi, Madhav Neupane, Sarita Baraha, Tulsiram Bhandari, Aj Ahmad Miya, Bal Bahadur Darji and Roshan Rijal.
DSP Khadak Bahadur Khatri of the District Police Office said that the arrest was made on the basis of secret information. They were arrested while having a meeting of the party held in Butwal Sub-Metropolitan-17 Raniganj under the coordination of Rupendehi in-charge.
Police recovered a pistol with Made in Japan number XX32 and two rounds of ammunition, four rounds of ammunition, four rounds of the bullet with 85 written on it, six mobile phones of different companies, Rs. 168,405 and various party documents. DSP Khatri said that the matter was being investigated.
All the arrested have been kept at the Area Police Office, Butwal and further investigation is underway, informed police.
The accused have been examined at Lumbini Provincial Hospital, Butwal on 31 July.
