Test of COVID-19 has been started at Karnali province Hospital in Surkhet from 2 April. According to Rita Bhandari, head of the Karnali Province Health Directorate, eight samples will be tested on 2 April. The test was started after the Ministry of Health and Population assigned the Human resource to operate all the materials and laboratory, including the portable PCR machine, for sample testing. Up to 10 swabs can be tested in a day, as per the doctors.
A joint meeting of the Disaster Management Council and the Disaster Management Executive Committee, held on 1st April, has decided to activate the integrated structure up to the ward level for Corona prevention and control, providing financial support to the municipality and the municipality, depending on the situation. In Bhanu Municipality of Tanahu, there are a group of 20 people including Dhan Bahadur Chadara of Nalgad Municipality are locked.
According to Salyan District Representative Mina Budathoki, Darma rural municipality has decided to raise funds for Corona Prevention for the first time of Rs. 80 lakh. Chairperson Nim Bahadur KC said that the criteria were implemented to provide relief to the poorest families in the village and to form a five-member search and surveillance group with one coordinator at the equal tole level at each ward. The villagers have also prepared the physical infrastructure for operation by building quarantine at the wad level and distributing PPE to the health institutions and ambulances within the village.
