Ten Years’ Imprisonment for Human Trafficking 

Court has declared 10 years’ imprisonment to three accused of prostitution in a hotel in Chitwan. The bench of Justice Avni Mainali Bhattarai declared this on 21 March 2020.

Junga Bahadur Chhetri (50); Manager of Khotang Sagarmatha Hotel and Guest House and Nirmala Chhetri (39) of Bharatpur Municipality- 29 were imprisoned for ten years with a fine of one lakh each.  Along with them Roshika Rai (24) of Dharan Sub Metropolitan- 8 was imprisoned for 11 years and was fined for one lakh, informed Shrestedhar Rudra Mani Giri. Jung Bahadur and Nirmala are husband and wife.

According to Giri, a case of Human Trafficking Code 2064- Article 118 was filed against them and the hotel was also seized.

A girl of 14 years and a woman of 22 years were abducted and forced for prostitution by the accused. They were arrested on 15 December 2019. The accused were sent for judicial custody on 10 January 2020.
