Explosion at the Residence of Former Minister of Communication and Information Technology of Nepal

There was an explosion in the residence of Former Minister of Communication and Information Technology of Nepal; Gokul Baskota. The explosion happened in the morning of 10 March 2020. His residence is situated at Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-1 Lokanthali’s Manohara Phant.

A pressure cooker bomb was placed outside the gate of the building and has damaged the walls and windows of the house, informed DSP Shanti Raj Koirala of Metropolitan Police Circle, Thimi. The blast damaged the windows of a private van Ba 19 Cha 4781. The blast also effected houses of the neighbours- Kuber K.C, Bhuwan K.C and Kapil Ghimire.

An on site investigation is being carried out to find the involved behind the explosion. Police had been patrolling around Baskota’s residential area from 10 March. Baskota had been living in Bhaktapur from the day he became Minister.The house is the private residence of Prime Minister K.P Sharma Oli.
