The District Court of Dhankuta is facing crisis in the management of inmates and detainees as they denied the transfer.
The prison is facing space issues as majority of inmates and detainees are lacking the sleeping space, toilet and clean drinking water. The prison has a capacity t accommodate only 35 inmates and detainees however, there are 68 of them including four female inmates.
They are facing health issues as it is difficulty on providing health services to the inmates and detainees according to the prison administrator Ram Prasad Nepal.
He said that the inmates and detainees have denied to get transfer from the prison which is creating more difficulties on managing them.
The male prison building is in dilapidated condition and in a raining season the roof leaks according to him. The administration is planning to build new building however the process has not started yet.
