Khagisara Kunwar, 21 of Waling Municipality-14 is intimidated by the shaman (witch doctor) Ram Bahadur Thapa, priest of Swarek Kalika Temple at Bhirkot Municipality-5 in the name of treating her ailment according to the police.
Ill woman Kunwar was taken to the shaman by her family member and in the name of treatment, she was beaten by the accused, police said.
Police initiated investigation after the beating of victim was viral in social media according to SI Nawa Raj Chand of ward police office, Waling.
The victim’s mother said that she do not want to come into the contact of police as they themselves had taken her to the priest for treatment.
The accused Thapa is at large after the incident and his search is undergoing according to the police.
The incident was made public via social media on October 31.
