The district court of Udayapur has ordered to sentence 40 years old Janak raj Khatri of Katari Municipality-12 for 10 years along with the compensation of Rs 30,000 after finding him guilty on raping 25 years old intellectually unable woman.
A single bench of District Court judge Tirtha Raj KC had given the verdict on October 31. The victim was raped by the convict on February 28 and on February and on March 2 he was arrested by Area Police Office of Katari.
The victim underwent health checkup at Katari Hospital on February 28. The district court on March 21 had ordered to remand him in custody.
