A 13 years old boy of Kharpunath Rural Municipality-1, Gopka is kept in a same police custody with other aged detainees complains his father Ratna Rokaya.
According to the children related act 2048, they are not allowed to handcuffed or kept in solitary refinement or with other aged detainees.
In Humla there are no prison and all detainees and prisoners are kept in a custody. In a custody of DPO, one aged detainees is kept along with 13 years old child.
He was charged of theft and was taken into custody according to inspector Gehendra Bogati of DPO.
According to him, the boy was controlled by the local vendors and handed over to the police office on charge of theft.
The claimant has lodged complaint stating that he is 16 years old however, police said that the age of the boy is only 13.
Due to the lack of children improvement center in Humla, children are kept along with other detainees and inmates.
