The consumers in Jumla are facing difficulties after the vendors are selling expired and substandard food to them. They are in crisis due to the negligence in timely monitoring of market by the concerned stakeholders.
The market monitoring organized by apple treatment centre in facilitation of District Administration after one year have found expired and substandard food in the market according to local consumer Chandra Bahadur Buda.
The monitoring by the concerned stakeholder has found expired food products in four wholesale shops. The expired and substandard foods were confiscated from nine dealers and four wholesale shops according to CDO Tek Bahadur Thapa. The majority of expired food products include edible oil and junk food prodicts according to the chief Amrit Bhushan Dahal of Apple Treatment Centre of Jumla.
