Request to initiate for relief

The conflict victims 37 years old Bij Lal Rokaya, Sat Singh Rokaya,31, Dadnlya Rokaya,33 and 45 years old Suk Lal Rokaya of Chaya Nath Rara Municipality-9 have requested INSEC to initiate them for relief. They complained that they did not received any relief even after the signing of Comprehensive Peace Accord (CPA) 11 years ago.

They have registered the name in local peace committee in 2015 however they haven’t received relief yet.

All four victims complained that they were taken into hostage by the then Maoist combatant in 2003, January 13 for 23 months after abducting them from their house.

Among them, Danglya Rokaya was released by the Maoist after 23 months however he was again shot and injured by army in 2005. He sustained leg injury.

Team of Nepal army had arrested Bij Lal, Satsingh and Suklal on 25th November 2005 and were in custody for 6 months. This incident is documented in Human Rights Year Book 2005 published by INSEC.

INSEC has informed about the issue to women and children office, Education Office and District Administration Office. Acting CDO Mohan Bahadur KC said that all victims will be provided with disability card.

Meanwhile, women and children office chief Hasina Subedi said that in coming days these victims will be given a priorty. Inspector Dhansudan Chaulagain of District Education Office said that the victim’s children will be considered for scholarships of they come with necessary documents.
