Political parties apathetic on following Election Code of Conduct

The violation of election code of conduct is rampant as the Election Day is approaching. While seeking for the votes from the citizen’s, the candidates and cadres of political parties are neglecting and violating the election code of conduct. Big banners, loud speakers are being used in the district for election campaign. CPN UML and Nepali Congress have violated the code of conduct by using speakers in a vehicles on November 11 and 12. No complaint has been lodged at election office regarding the incident.

As per the point 10 of chapter 2 (A) in election code of conduct, none of the political parties are allowed to operate election campaign before 8 am and after 7 pm. However, none of the parties seems to be following it. Nepali congress and left alliance are busy on doing their election campaign even late at night. It has been revealed that on November 11, left alliance had organized meeting at 10 PM at Khandbari Municipality. Election officer Prakash Raut said that the political parties violating CoC will be cautioned.
