Election Security Sensitivity Increased: Security Committee

The District’s Security Committee has said that the security sensitivity for the upcoming parliamentary and provincial election has been increased.

The election security planning has been doubled for the upcoming election on November 26 as compared to the recent local level election.

According to the District Security Committee there are 19 polling stations tagged as very sensitive, 25 as sensitive and 85 as normal.

Shailyashikhar Municipality, Malikarjun, Marma and Naugadh rural municipality are listed as sensitive. In these area there were dispute and clashed in previous elections.

There is a risk in transporting ballot boxes as poll counting will be conducted in district headquarter of Khalanga. Similarly, there are equal chances of heavy snow fall in Vyas Rural Municipality , Aapi Himal.

DSP Ambika Prasad Joshi of armed police force said that the security has been tightened in 129 polling centers and more than 2,115 security personnel are mobilized in the area according to security committee.
