The process of registering the candidacy nomination for the upcoming second phase of local level election under the province number 5 has been concluded on June 18.
Under province number 5, Banke, Bardiya, Dang, Rolpa, Pyuthan and Rukum , the candidates from various parties have given their candidacy according to the INSEC district representatives of the districts.
The representatives of INSEC had monitored the candidacy nomination process. Apart from Baijanath village council, the nomination process in all other places was peaceful. The political parties in Banke had used children during the registration of nomination.
According to the district representative Adarsha KC of Rukum, the nomination registration process was peaceful in three local levels. Out of nine local levels, in six levels, the election has been concluded in May 31st .
For the second phase of local level election, in Sisne, Jhume and Puthautarganga village council, the candidacy nomination process was peaceful according to Inspector Thaman Ramjali of DPO Rukum. Due to the lack of communication, further information is still to come according to Rumjali.
According to Madhav Oli, district representative of Rolpa, the candidacy nomination was participated exuberantly by the political parties. The participation was exuberant as the local level election is being held after 20 years.
The district has nine village councils and one municipality where all three major political parties have given candidacy for the post of mayor.
According to Dang representative J.N Sagar, the political parties have peacefully registered their candidacy for the upcoming election in two sub-metropolis, one municipality and seven village councils of the district.
According to Banke district representative Binod Pandey, the political parties have registered their candidacy nomination in all village councils. The political parties with full of band and music came for the nomination. There was a significant enthusiasm among the people. Nepali Congress, CPN UML, Maoist center, RPP and Forum Loktantrik has used children during their rally against the code of conduct.
In baijanath village council , there was a clash between the CPN UML and Maoist centre cadres on June 18 according to DSP Suresh Kafle of Area Police Office Kohalpur. In a clash, seven people including two police were injured according to Kafle. To control the clash, police had to use three cells of tear gas and one round of firing. The security of the district has been tightened to avoid further possibility of clash according to District Administration Office.
According to Man Bahadur Chaudhary of Bardiya, the process of nomination registration was concluded peacefully in the district. For the eight local levels, the political parties have given their candidacy on June 18.
In Bardiya district, the local level election will be held in eight levels including Guleriya Municipality, Rajapur Municipality, Madhuwan Municipality, Thakurbaba Municipality, Barbardiya Municipality, Geruwa Village council, Badhaiyatal Village council on June 28.
There has been a violation of code of conduct. The parties have used children to carry their flags.
Meanwhile, in Bardiya district, police have arrested RJP cadres Keshav Yadav, Aseshwor Thakur and Suresh Shukla on June 17 from Guleriya. Police have not given any comments on the arrest. The security of the district was tightened and no report of serious incidents recorded during the nomination process.
According to Pyuthan District representative Rabindra Shrestha, a candidacy nomination process was peaceful in nine local levels of the district. The process of nomination was monitored by NHRC regional office of Nepalgunj.
