Informal Sector Service (INSEC) chairperson Subodh Raj Pyakurel said that no one can obstruct the voting rights of the people.
He expressed his views while speaking at the program on Human Rights and Election in Morang on June 17 organized by CCCE. He added that one can have right to boycott or not to cast vote in an election but no one can obstruct the right to vote of others.
He said that RJP’s decision to take action against those casting votes is a mockery of international norms and value.
Speaking at the program, Dr Rajesh Ahiraj, Madhes affairs expert, said that this problem is due to the intellectual and structural discrimination. The present root cause of the political problem is that political parties adopting the norms that certain caste can only raise issue within their area and people that are out from their area must not get rights . In the program, rights activists, media personnel, and representatives from organizations were present.
