After the Bharatpur Jail administration announced on September 10, 2025 that returning inmates would not be treated differently, 501 inmates have returned to jail. Of these, 497 returned voluntarily, while four were brought back by the police. Among the 501, 486 were admitted to Bharatpur Jail, and the remaining 15 were placed in other jails, said the Chief of Bharatpur Jail, Chandra Dhungana. He added that out of 46 female inmates who had escaped from Bharatpur Jail, 36 have been re-arrested so far, while three Indian female inmates have not returned. Of four dependent children, two have also returned to the jail.

Similarly, of the 14 Indian inmates in jail, one returned on their own, four were sent to Bhairahawa Jail, and there is no information about the remaining nine.

Citing security concerns, the District Jail Bharatpur transferred Kalibahadur Kham to the Central Jail on September 17, 2025. Kham had escaped along with other inmates on September 10 but returned to jail on September 13, 2025. On September 10, out of a total of 740 inmates at Bharatpur Jail, 694 had escaped.
