President Ramchandra Paudel, acting on the recommendation of newly appointed Prime Minister Sushila Karki, dissolved the House of Representatives effective from 11:00 PM on 12 September. Prime Minister Karki had submitted the recommendation for dissolution immediately after taking the oath of office.
According to a press release issued by the Office of the President, states that the elections for the new House of Representatives have been scheduled for Thursday, 5 March 2026.
