Resolution Should Be Sought on the Basis of Human Rights, Democratic Values, and Rule of Law: Human Rights Commission

The National Human Rights Commission has confirmed that it is in contact with President Ramchandra Paudel regarding the prevailing critical situation in the country. In a statement issued on 12 September, the Commission emphasized to the President that resolving the crisis on the foundation of human rights, democratic values, and the rule of law would be the most appropriate course of action.

The statement expresses hopes that the President will take necessary measures to safeguard human rights, democracy, peace, and the rule of law. Additionally, it is stated that the Commission, through its Deputy Secretary and spokesperson Dr. Tikaram Pokharel, is maintaining continuous communication with other relevant stakeholders regarding the current situation.
