On 10 September, the body of Turans Lal Barahi, approximately 50 years old and one of the inmates who escaped from Rajbiraj Prison, was found in a field in Ranjitpur, Ward-6, Bishnupur Rural Municipality. Locals found the body hanging from a mango tree in the field and reported it to the police. Preliminary investigations conducted by police from Bishnupur Police Station, under the command of a Deputy Inspector, confirmed that the deceased had been recently imprisoned in Rajbiraj Jail in connection with a killing case.
The body has been sent to Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital, Rajbiraj for post-mortem after completing legal procedures. An Scene of Crime Operation (SOCO) team dispatched from the District Police Office, Saptari is conducting further investigations at the scene and collecting necessary evidence.
