Police arrested Lal Bahadur Waiba, 30, on August 3 for the charge of attempting to kill his wife, Gyandi Maharjan Waiba, 28, by attacking her with an axe. The victim is originally from Manthali, Bakaiya Rural Municipality–10, Makwanpur, and was residing in Thecho, Godawari Municipality–12, Lalitpur.
Lalitpur District Police Chief SP Chakraraj Joshi informed that the aggrieved party filed a complaint at the Chapagaun Police Post on August 3, stating that the accused attempted to kill his wife at their residence the same day following a domestic dispute.
Dr. Ravi Shakya, the director of Patan Hospital, confirmed that the woman was admitted to the hospital on August 3 and is currently undergoing treatment. Police stated that the Lalitpur District Court has granted a seven-day extension for the investigation against the accused.
