Mohammad Islam, 36, was injured in a police gun firing in Bhadrapur Municipality–5 of Jhapa on July 26. Islam, originally from Kishanganj district of India, was reportedly involved in drug trafficking in Bhadrapur Municipality–5, and police opened fire, injuring him in the leg, according to authorities.He has been admitted to Mechi Provincial Hospital for treatment, informed DSP Khagendra Bahadur Khadka of the District Police Office.
According to DSP Khadka, police fired the shot after Islam confronted the police during a joint operation carried out by the Narcotics Control Bureau, Kathmandu, and the District Police Office, Jhapa on July 26.
