Chairperson Dr. Kundan Aryal of INSEC stated that continuous vigilance over the transitional justice process is necessary. Speaking at the annual review meeting organized by INSEC on July 14 in Dhulikhel, Chairperson Aryal said that INSEC has been closely monitoring the transitional process by the commission and stand together with the victims to ensure that the process reaches a conclusion.

He further stated that the main objective of the commission should be to provide justice to the victims. To monitor this process, INSEC has formed monitoring committees at the central, provincial, and local levels and begun its work. He stated that INSEC has documented serious incidents of human rights violations and abuses during the armed conflict, and that INSEC stands prepared to utilize and share those records as needed.

INSEC Executive Director Bijay Raj Gautam said that along with documentation, INSEC is also advancing as a resource center. The meeting included presentations on project reviews, opportunities, and challenges. The two-day meeting is being attended by staff members of INSEC from all seven provincial offices as well as the central office.
