Amar Prasad Shah, Chief of the Division Forest Office in Jajarkot, was beaten inside his office. On July 6, a group of three to four unknown individuals entered the office during working hours and beat Shah leading to minor injuries. A few days ago, Shah faced criticism after a video surfaced showing him allegedly consuming alcohol in the office meeting hall.
Shah claimed that the video was deliberately circulated to tarnish his reputation and that he had done nothing wrong. Although the attackers have not been identified, the District Police Office said that they will carryout an investigation regarding this matter with the help of CCTV footage.
