After the body of a seven-year-old girl from Dhanpalathan Rural Municipality-5 was found under suspicious condition on June 28, police arrested her 36-year-old uncle the same day on suspicion of rape and killing. According to DSP Kopila Chudal of the District Police Office, the girl’s body was found near Durga Basic School in Dhanpalathan Rural Municipality-5 on June 28.
DSP Chudal stated that the girl’s parents had traveled to India on June 26 for work, leaving their three children in the care of their grandmother and uncle. SP Narayan Chimoriya of the District Police Office said the uncle was arrested for investigation after the body of the seven-year-old girl, who had been sleeping with her siblings and uncle, was found dead.
The post-mortem was of the body was done at the Koshi Hospital on June 28. Forensic expert Dr. Dikshant Pokharel of Koshi Hospital stated that whether it is a case of rape and killing will only be confirmed after the post-mortem report. The aggrieved family received the body on June 28 and performed the final rites.
