Police arrested Khadga Bahadur Rai, 52, of Santang in Dhankuta Municipality-8 for the charge of raping a 50-year-old woman. The aggrieved party filed a complaint against him at the District Police Office on June 23 alleging that he raped the woman on June 22. Based on the complaint, police had arrested the accused from the market area of Dhankuta Municipality-7 on the same day, informed DSP Om Prakash Khanal of the District Police Office. The aggrieved party also stated that the accused raped the woman by threatening her to kill with a khukuri.
The victim underwent a health examination at the District Hospital on June 23.
