The bench of the District Court Judge Danishwor Poudel on June 9 sentenced Udip Yadav,40, and Pradip Kumar Mishra, 23 both of Rupandehi Kotahimai Rural Municipality-7 to three months imprisonment for involvement in child marriage of a 17-year-old girl. Along with the imprisonment the accused were also ordered to pay a fine of Rs 5,000.
The aggrieved party filed a complaint at the District Police Office, Rupandehi on July 25, 2024 stating that the accused had been involved in a child marriage on July 19. The police had arrested the accused earlier, on July 24.
