A five-member investigation committee has been formed to probe an incident involving Yagya Raj Panta, in charge of the Khairipur checkpoint on the Hulaki Highway in Tikapur Municipality-7, who has been accused of beating Rajkumari Kunwar, 29, of Tikapur Municipality-1 on June 6.
The victim filed a complaint at the Area Police Office, Tikapur, on June 7, alleging that Inspector Panta, in plain clothes, physically abused her during a security check. According to DSP Raj Kumar Singh of the District Police Office, Kailali, Inspector Panta, and Police Constable Surendra Bohara, who were allegedly involved in the incident, have been called for investigation.
DSP Singh further stated that departmental action will be taken against those involved, as a video circulating on social media shows Inspector Panta physically abusing the woman.
