The body of Bishnu Sunar, 20, of Charaundi, Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-7 was found hanging inside the toilet of the District Jail on May 28. Sunuwar was in jail for pre-trial detention since May 21 for the charge of attempted killing.
According to Jailer Rammani Mishra, he had gone to the toilet around 1 a.m. and did not return for a long time. When security personnel checked, they found him hanging. According to Mishra, it appears that Sunuwar may have taken his own life using a two-meter-long rope typically used for making mats. He further stated that police are conducting a detailed investigation into the incident and that the body has been sent to Dhading Hospital for post-mortem.
