The District Court sentenced Ram Bahadur Kumal,29, of Sandhikharka Municipality-5, balebang to seven years imprisonment for raping a 22-year-old woman. The bench of District Court Judge Shivalal Pandey on May 25 sentenced the accused to imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 3,00,000 and Rs 12,000 as compensation. The aggrieved party filed a complaint at the District Police Office on July 18, 2023, alleging that the accused raped the woman on July 15, 2023. Based on the complaint, the police arrested Kumal on July 18, 2023.
The health examination of the woman was done on the same day at Arghakhanchi Hospital.
