Locals have complained that despite repeatedly requesting the provincial and federal governments through the District Disaster Management Committee for the relocation of high-risk settlements, their concerns have been ignored.

Chief District Officer Narayan Pandey stated that the District Disaster Management Committee has requested the provincial government to relocate 45 settlements across all seven rural municipalities in the district. Chief of the District Coordination Committee, Shivaraj Sharma, informed that the eighth district assembly of the District Coordination Committee has called for the relocation. Citing the high risk of floods and landslides, the assembly has called for the relocation of such settlements under the Integrated Settlement Development Program. Likewise, the assembly has also urged the federal and provincial governments to manage fencing and land consolidation of cultivable land that has been under unmanaged.
