Skill development sewing training has been conducted for inmates at Jumla Jail. A one-month sewing skill development training was organized by the Jumla Prison Office. The sewing training was facilitated by Ratnakali Nepali. She said, “I have got the opportunity to share the skills I have learned. I will try my best to teach well from my side.”

The jail administration has stated that the purpose of the training is to develop the skills of detainees to make them self-reliant and connect them with employment opportunities. The Acting Chief District Officer of the District Administration Office, Min Bahadur Rawal, said that the training is expected to enhance the detainees’ abilities and bring positive changes to their lives.
There are 100 inmates in the Jumla Jail, including four women. Among the 100 detainees, only 30 will receive sewing training. The inmates have expressed that if everyone had at least three months of training, they could learn much more.
