Police arrested Ramadhin Mahato ,40, of Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City-23, Bindhi, on May 6, 2025, in connection with the killing of 15-year-old Anshu Yadav. Mahato, who had been absconding, was found hiding in Bisaul, India. He is currently being held at the Dhanusha District Police Office for further investigation, according to DSP Barun Bahadur Singh.
According to the aggrieved party, Anshu Yadav was stabbed to death on March 15, 2025, during a dispute over a T-shirt on the day of the Holi festival. While one of the accused was arrested on March 30, 2025, others who assisted in the incident, including Ramdahin Mahato, Rakesh Mahato, Lakshan Mahato, Pramod Mahato, Ashok Mahato, and Bouwelal Mahato, remained absconding. The aggrieved party staged a protest along the Janakpur-Jaleshwar road section on March 30, 2025, demanding their arrest. The victim’s family filed a complaint against the accused at the Dhanusha District Police Office on the same day.
A team including representatives from the National Human Rights Commission, INSEC, Madhesh Province, along with human rights defenders and journalists, reached the incident site on April 2 to monitor the situation and gathered information about the incident by meeting with the victim’s family and local residents.
