Police arrested Bibek Shah, 19, of Bariyarpatti Rural Municipality-1 on May 3 for the charge of raping a 16-year-old girl. The aggrieved party filed a complaint at the Area Police Office, Maheshpur Patar, on April 28, accusing Bibek Shah and Suraj Shah of Bariyarpatti Rural Municipality-1 of raping the girl on April 27.
DSP Birendra Kumar Paswan of the District Police Office, Siraha, stated that one of the accused has been arrested and the legal process has been initiated, while the search for the other absconding accused is going on. The health examination of the girl was done at the Provincial Hospital, Siraha, on April 28.
