Police arrested an 18-year-old boy on April 17 for raping his 9-year-old sister. The aggrieved party had filed a complaint against the accused on April 4 at the District Police Office alleging that he raped the girl on February 6. The absconding accused was arrested from Kathmandu and taken to Dang as per SP Arjun Kumar Timilsina of the District Police Office. The health examination of the victim was done on April 4 at the Rapti Academy of Health Science.
Before this, the aggrieved party had reached the office of Bangalachuli Rural Municipality–6, alleging that the girl had been raped. However, since the incident had taken place inside the family, a settlement agreement was reached on March 26 in the presence of Ward Chairperson Dombahadur KC. After the settlement regarding the rape incident became public, the aggrieved party proceeded to file a formal complaint on April 4.
