Police arrested Chamkumar Tamang, 32 of Thulung Dudhkoshi Rural Municipality-9, Lokhim on April 17 for attacking his five-year-old daughter with a sharp weapon during a domestic dispute on April 17. DSP Dwarika Prasad Ghimire of the District Police Office stated that the accused was arrested on April 17 near Phalate Phedi Khola for investigation. The minor sustaining a head injury was referred to Kathmandu for further treatment by Thulung Dudhkoshi Rural Municipality. The municipality arranged for her airlift by helicopter, according to municipal spokesperson Bhojraj Karki.
Article 39 of the Constitution of Nepal guarantees the rights of children. Sub-Article 7 of the same article states that no child shall be subjected to physical, mental, or any other form of torture at home, school, or any other place or situation.
