Phidim Declared Fully Vaccine-Assured Municipality 

Phidim Municipality has been declared a fully vaccinated municipality after completing the required vaccination doses for all children in the age group from birth to 59 months according to the World Health Organization’s standards. A total of 577 children under the age of 15 and 1,579 children aged between 16 to 59 months have completed the vaccination doses as per the guidelines of the World Health Organization.

Mayor Mitraprasad Kafle stated that Phidim Municipality was declared a fully vaccinated municipality on April 8 after 2,156 children from 12,336 households completed the required vaccination doses. Ramraj Angdemba, Chief of the District Coordination Committee, Panchthar also the Coordinator District Vaccination Coordination Committee confirmed that Phidim Municipality has achieved full vaccination coverage.

Article 35 of the Constitution of Nepal, 2015, defines and provides for the right to health as a fundamental right. Full vaccination assurance is declared when children receive the required doses of vaccines against diseases such as diphtheria, tuberculosis, polio, measles, pneumonia, rubella, Japanese encephalitis, and typhoid.
