The District Court sentenced Prem Bhadur Rawat of Baijanath Municipality-4, Jigaun to life imprisonment for raping a seven year old minor. Registrar Govinda Acharya said that the bench of the District Court Judge Indra Bahadur Kathyat on March 24 sentenced the accused with life time imprisonment and ordered him to pay a fine of Rs 7,00,000 and additional Rs 1,000 to the victims’ relief fund. The aggrieved party had filed a complaint against the accused on 18 January , 2024 at the Area Police Office, Kohalpur alleging that he had raped the victim on 17 January. Subsequently, the accused was arrested on 18 January.
The health examination of the victim was done on 18 January.
