The CPN (Majority) staged a protest in Kathmandu on March 25 against the government’s dismissal of Kulman Ghising from his position of Managing Director (MD) of Nepal Electricity Authority on March 24. Police arrested 12 leaders and cadres of the CPN (Majority) on March 25 for attempting to enter a restricted area during a protest. According to Superintendent of Police Apil Raj Bohara from the District Police Range, those arrested include Darshan, the Kathmandu District Secretary of the CPN (Majority), Dhruva, the Coordinator of the All Nepal Federation of Trade Unions (ANTUF), and members of ANNISU (Revolutionary), including Central Chairperson Birendra Shah, Vice Chairperson Rupa Budhamagar, Secretariat Members Laxmi Shah, Hasta BK, Sarjan Pandey, Campus District Chairperson Dinesh Nepali, Kathmandu District Vice Chairperson Samir Bishwakarma, as well as Prahalad, Ramhari, and Kamal. Among those arrested, 10 are male and two are female. According to the Kathmandu District Police Range, they have been detained at the Singha Durbar Police Range.
